Welcome to Troop 1776G
“I have over and over again explained that the purpose of the Boy Scout and Girl Guide Movement is to build men and women as citizens endowed with the three H’s namely, Health, Happiness and Helpfulness. The man or woman who succeeds in developing these three attributes has secured the main steps to success this Life.”
— Robert Baden-Powell (founder of Scouts)
Troop 1776G is a newly formed BSA Troop in 2020 for girls in the East Plano, Murphy, Richardson, Wylie, Parker, and Sachse areas. If you are in grades 6 – 12 and interested in camping, hiking, leadership skills, community service contact us today to begin your adventures with new friends. Join our next troop meeting on Sunday 3:30 – 5 pm at Breckinridge Park Lot C.
The Scout program strives to teach and develop young adults what it means to be honorable, contributing citizens. We start all meetings and activities by citing our guiding principles to keep all of us (including adults) grounded.
Scout Oath:
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law:
Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Outdoor Code:
As an American I will do my best to:
Be clean in my outdoor manners. Be careful with fire. Be considerate in the outdoors. Be conservation minded.
The old saying “it takes a village to raise a kid” as all parents know is true. Young adults need and want independence, they want to make their own decisions, and they need to expand their world to help understand the possibilities. All of this needs to happen in a safe place that challenges them, allows them to fail and succeed, and is fun.

The million dollar question is “Can you start a new troop during a pandemic?” We are on a mission to do just that and the Scouting movement is transforming itself to ensure there are activities to do.
